Every few years a product is introduced to the CCTV market that changes the way
we upgrade cameras. The new PRZ camera, is destined to become one of those products.
PRZ is an acronmyn for "Power-line Remote Zoom". What the PRZ brings to the market is
what many people have been looking for. A camera that can zoom without a data cable.
The first model to be introduced is the PRZ 2200-A. This Bullet style Weatherproof camera
features 480TVL Sony Super HAD Lens with 22xoptical zoom.
US Patented 2009The feature that allows this camera to be completely different from the others scattered
across the CCTV market is the ability to send RS-485 data command through the
power cable to control the lens motor. Doing this means that you can replace an
existing camera with a PRZ zooming camera and fully zoom in and zoom out
without a separate data cable.
Having the RS-485 data command sent through the power cable saves money and time.
The PRZ 2200-A can be installed with only RG59 siamese cables. On the DVR end, a
special PRZ transmitter box is applied to translate communication between the camera
and RS-485 interface, be it a joystick controller or a computer interface.
